FAST FORWARD WHEELS
Custom Wheel Refinishing & Repairs
BEFORE                      AFTER
Here is our process when we refinish your wheels
CUSTOM WHEEL REFINISHING, PAINTING, CHROME PLATING, REPAIRS AND MORE

  • First your wheels gets checked for small imperfections such as curb-rash, bends and cracks, we use a hydraulic
press designed only for repair rims to make our corrections.

  • Second your wheels gets repaired such as welding, aluminum fill and resurfacing.

  • Third your wheel get prepared for paint, we strip the wheel down in order to have a good surface to perform the
    first paint layer.

  • Fourth your wheels are dipped in our Hot-Ultra-Sonic tank which is a similar to those used to clean your jewelry
    only MUCH bigger.

  • Fifth we then have your wheels pulled out of the Hot tank to a cold water bath.

  • Sixth we remove your wheels from the cold water bath and give them a high pressure blast to ensure all of the
water from the Hot and Cold tanks are removed completely.

  • Seventh your wheels are then prepared for painting, here certain areas will be masked.

  • Eighth your wheels will receive their color coat of choice, this first layer is in a flat to better absorb into the
aluminum while acting as a primer coating.

  • Ninth your wheels are then clear coated either in Flat, Semi-Gloss or High-Gloss.

  • Tenth your wheels are touched up from masking and such.

  • Eleventh your wheels are allowed to cure in a dry room so that the paint may take its time to cure on it's own
    before the baking process begins.

  • Twelfth your wheels are baked in our bakers, we cannot disclose as to the temperatures or times we use as this
is a trade secret but we will ensure you that the process is near nowhere close to the heat others use when they
    use in powder coating treatment.

  • At this point your wheels only need to cure which takes around 12-24 hours more before you're safe to mount
    your tires

Common Questions & Answers

  • Do you Powder coat & if not why?
  • No we do not powder coat, we believe that the heat treatment used in powder coating is far too hot which on a
molecular level can cause damage to the centers of the wheels.

  • What kind of warranty do you offer on your work?
  • We offer a full-year warranty on the quality of our refinishing such as paint but we do not cover items such as
abuse, damage caused by installers or elements which are out of our control.  We offer a base warranty on our
"damage work" such as cracks and bends.  What a base warranty means is that the wheel must be inspected
before it is mounted on the car, we cannot offer a warranty beyond this point for damage repairs since we have no
way monitoring the wheels and the damage which can occur after they are driven on.

  • How long does it typically take to refinish a set of wheels?
  • On a set of one piece wheels it typically takes us one week from the time we have the wheels only ready to work
on.  On a set of two or three piece wheels it will typically take 2-3 weeks to have them completely finished.

  • Do you offer RUSH services?
  • Yes, we do offer RUSH services which usually bring the wait time to as low as a ONE-DAY turn-around.  The cost
for this service will run $50 more per wheel on single piece wheels.  The rush service for two & three piece
wheels usually drops the wait time down to 5-days.

  • Do you offer mobile services?
  • At this time we do not offer mobile services, we have not found a mobile guy that we trust to perform the work to
our standards.  When we hire someone who can meet our level of service we may then at that time offer the work.

  • Can I bring my car and just leave it at your shop?
  • We'd prefer that you only bring your wheels in but we will on rare occasions allow you to bring your vehicle in and
keep it on our lift with a RUSH-SERVICE only.  We must have the lift tied up for no more than one day at a time so if
you're willing to RUSH-SERVICE all four wheels then we will work with you by appointment only.

  • Are you familiar with my wheels or only Porsche wheels?
  • We have worked on pretty much every wheel out there including wheels ranging from $99 to as much as $8,000
each.  We are prepared to work on steel, aluminum, chrome & magnesium.  Almost 70% of the wheels we refinish
are for PORSCHE customers but have worked on a wide range of vehicles throughout the years.

  • Can I ship you my wheels and how much does it cost?
  • You are welcome to ship your wheels to us but we do not cover any of the shipping cost.  Shipping in the USA cost
an average of $12-35 just depending on how large and how heavy your wheels are.  I would say that the average
cost from my experience through the US is around $15-20 on a light weight 19" wheel just to give you an idea.  We
will insure your wheels for as much as you want us to, insurance cost around $1 per $100 of insurance so keep
that in mind when you ask for insurance coverage.  We treat all customers as though they are all walk-in
customers so if there is warranty work to be completed we WILL-NOT cover any shipping charges here or back.
Keep this in mind before shipping your wheels out to us.  You have the right to request photos of your wheels
before paying for the finished work but it might delay your order by up to two days depending on how busy we are.
We highly encourage you to request photo prior to shipping so you won't encounter shipping charges.  We also
recommend dealing with a shop which is local to you if you're worried about shipping.

  • Will you pick up my wheels?
  • We will pick up your wheels if you are within a few miles and are willing to pay for it.  We don't typically offer this
service and no it is not cheap so I don't recommend it.  I'd say that you're looking at around $50-75 more within 10-
miles for either a pick-up or drop-off so each way will double your cost.  It is just not normal to do so we need to
make it worth the time if this is what you'll need.

  • Do you need to take the tires off to perform your work?
  • YES, tires need to be removed prior to performing any work, we do offer a tire service here where we'll dismount
your tires from the wheels, store your tires during the refinishing process, remount the tires back on the wheels
and then computer balance them for around $15-20 each.  Mounting them on your vehicle will cost an extra $5 per
    each.

One piece wheels

in for repair only means no paint, clear, chrome
or anodize finishing work. This is for minor
repairs such as curb-rash, minor bends or
cracks will generally run you $100 ea.

One piece wheels which have minor damage but
require single tone paint scheme such as silver,
black, clear or stock colors will generally run
$1
35 ea. +$25 more for hyper colors.

$125 each when submitted as 4 or
more at the
same time.

Two and Three piece wheels

require more work since we have assembly
work, re-assembly, torque setting, silicone
applications and resurfacing so the cost
generally runs an extra $75 per each which
brings the cost to $200 per wheel on a full finish:
face, lip and rear barrel.  This price does not
include chrome plating.

Chrome plating
Generally chrome plate work will run $200 on
13-18" wheels single piece.  This does not
include the inside barrel.  If  you'd like the inside
of the barrel also prepared and plated to what
we call show-conditions you'll need to call us for
a quote.  It is also best to call us for a quote on
larger size wheels.

We offer our hardware for two or three piece
wheels.  Generally the starting price per piece
will begin at $1.50 each and go up from there as
some of these parts are brought in from
Germany and Japan so the cost will vary.

TIRE SERVICE IS NOT INCLUDED IN ANY OF OUR
REFINISHING WORK.  The typical cost of tire
service is $60-80 per set (remove, remount &
re-balance)  We encourage you to take your
tires with you if we need to dismount them as
we are not responsible for them while they are
here.
